A schoolboy has been left injured after being hit by a car in South Lanarkshire.
The 12-year-old was walking on Calderwood Road in East Kilbride when he was struck by the vehicle at around 3.25pm on Monday.
Emergency services attended and he was taken to hospital where he has received treatment to his injuries.
The woman who was driving the car has been reported in connection with road offences.
Police confirmed the incident.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “At around 3.25pm on Monday, we were called to the Calderwood Road area of East Kilbride following a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian, a 12-year-old boy, was taken to hospital for treatment. The female driver of the car will be reported in connection with road traffic offences.”
