Royal Mail postmen strip off for Christmas present calendar ahead of strike Glasgow Strike Solidarity

A group of Glasgow postmen have stripped off to raise money for good causes ahead of strikes in the lead-up to Christmas in a dispute over pay.

The Victoria Road posties donned Santa hats and took up wrapped gifts to hide their modesty in a photoshoot for a festive calendar.

Proceeds from the sales of the 2023 calendar will go towards supporting nurses, who are also set to strike in historic industrial action, local organisations, Glasgow based social enterprise Milk Cafe and Scotland’s tenants’ union Living Rent.

Glasgow Strike Solidarity said: “In response to the huge support received on the picket line, [CWU] posties of Victoria Rd, Glasgow have stripped to bring you the best 2023 calendar.”

In response to the Communication Workers Union members getting their clothes off, a representative of the union’s No 1 branch said: “Sizzling solidarity.

“I’ve just pre-ordered one of these bad boys for the office, I’m sure the other reps will love it.”

Royal Mail workers are to strike over Christmas after further industrial action was announced in a dispute over pay and conditions.

Six dates – December 9, 11, 14 and 15, as well as on December 23 and Christmas Eve- have been added to the four days of strike action already planned.

Workers at the Royal Mail will walk out on November 24 and 25, before striking again on November 30 and December 1.

The action will impact on deliveries during Black Friday sales events next week.
