The STV building in Glasgow and surrounding homes and businesses have been evacuated after emergency services responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area.
Police say they are investigating an “ongoing incident” after the discovery near the broadcaster’s headquarters at Pacific Quay.
The nearby Govan Road has also been sealed off by police, while some vehicles have been turned away from the area on the Clyde Arc road bridge.
Local residents have also been told to evacuate their homes.
An STV spokesperson said: “Due to a police incident in the area, STV’s offices at Pacific Quay have been evacuated this evening.
“The channel remains on air with regular programming, but this evening’s edition of Scotland Tonight won’t be transmitted.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Govan Road at Lorne Street, extending to the Clyde Arc Bridge, is closed after police received a report of a suspect item in a car park near the South Rotunda.
“Officers are in attendance and a cordon is in place as a precaution. The public is being asked to avoid the area.”
Glasgow City Council confirmed the road closures stating: “In addition to the closure below the Clyde Arc Bridge is completely closed to all traffic. Govan Road is also closed between the Clyde Arc Bridge and Plantation Square/Mavisbank Gardens roundabout.
“A section of Pacific Drive between the Clyde Arc Bridge and the Science Centre/Festival Gate junction is currently closed to all traffic due to an ongoing police incident.
“Road users should avoid the area if possible.”
