Road closed as police attend ongoing disturbance in flat

Police were called to the incident on Sunday afternoon.

A busy Glasgow road has been closed amid an ongoing disturbance in a nearby flat.

Police are in attendance at a property on Calder Street, Govanhill, dealing with the incident.

The force were called to the scene after receiving reports of a disturbance at around 12.05pm on Sunday.

They remain at the scene and officers say the incident has been contained as the public are assured that there is no wider threat.

Calder Street has been closed between Langside Road and Westmoreland Street and drivers have been urged to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are in attendance on Calder Street in Glasgow following a report of a disturbance within a property around 12.05pm.

“The incident is contained and there is no risk to the wider public.

“Calder Street is closed between Westmoreland Street and Langside Road.”
