Police have locked down a street and evacuated nearby residents after a “suspected ordinance” was found in a back garden in Glasgow.
An Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team were called out to the property on Banavie Road in Hyndland just after noon on Tuesday.
Officers received reports of a suspect device within a garden on the street.
It is understood residents will not be allowed back into their homes until the item is safely disposed of.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.05pm on Tuesday police were called to a property in Banavie Road, Glasgow, following the discovery of suspected ordnance in a back garden.
“The EOD are on their way and a cordon is in place.
“People in surrounding properties have been evacuated as a precaution until the item can be safely disposed of.”
