Police Scotland have issued a warning to members of the public as armed officers take part in a live exercise.
The force said that the “live play exercise” will take place in parts of North Lanarkshire and Glasgow on Wednesday.
The exercise is not in response to any “specific threat or intelligence”, police added.
In a tweet, police said: “Our officers are taking part in a live play exercise today in North Lanarkshire and Glasgow.
“You may see armed police as part of this. The training is standard procedure & not in response to a specific threat or intelligence.”
