Police are investigating the “unexplained” death of a man after a body was found near to a North Lanarkshire beauty spot.
Emergency services were alerted to the discovery near to Banton Loch in Kilsyth on Sunday afternoon.
Police Scotland said the death is being treated as “unexplained” pending further investigation and the results of a post-mortem.
The 57-year-old man’s family has been informed.
A force spokesperson said: “We received a report of a body found near Banton Loch in Kilsyth around 2.35pm on Sunday, August 23.
“Enquiries have established the body is that of a 57-year-old man and his family has been informed.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained pending further investigation and the results of a post-mortem.”
