Police name motorcyclist who died after collision with car

A motorcyclist who died in a crash in East Ayrshire on Saturday has been named by police.

Ian Sloan was driving his motorbike on the A719 Waterside to A77 Ayr Road around at 3.10pm when it collided with a silver Skoda Octavia.

Emergency services arrived but the 56-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car’s male driver was uninjured and the four female passengers were taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.

Police Sergeant Gordon Stewart, from the Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Sloan at what is a very difficult time.

“Our enquiries remain ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dash-cam footage and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.”
