A man who died in hospital after being struck by a car in Glasgow has been named by police.

George Jarvis, 69, suffered fatal injuries after he was hit by a Ford Fiesta on Kilmarnock Road near to the junction with Holmbank Avenue at 11.30pm on Friday, March 4.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he later died.

The 30-year-old driver was uninjured in the collision.

Police are appealing for information as they continue enquiries into the crash.

Sergeant Adnan Alam, from the Greater Glasgow Road Policing Unit, said: “At this time, our thoughts remain with George’s loved ones, as they come to terms with their terrible loss.

“We are continuing our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident and would ask anyone who has not yet come forward with information to get in touch with police.

“If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call 101, quoting incident 4320 of March 4.”
