The family of Charles McCallum has been informed after police made the discovery near Glasgow's Linn Park.

Police have recovered a body near a Glasgow park during the search for a missing man.

Officers confirmed the body was recovered from water near Snuff Mill Road, Cathcart, at around 12.20pm on Tuesday, March 1.

Officers remain at the scene near Linn Park and formal identification is yet to take place.

However, police say the family of missing 64-year-old Charles McCallum has been informed.

Mr McCallum disappeared from the Busby area on Sunday, February 20.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 12.20 pm on Tuesday, March 1, the body of a man was discovered in the water near Snuff Mill Road, Cathcart.

“Officers are at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and identity.

“The death is being treated as unexplained at this time. The family of missing man Charles McCallum have been made aware.”
