Police have confirmed the name of a motorcyclist who died in a crash involving a car.

Hristo Hristov, 33, from Tranent, East Lothian, was pronounced dead at the scene on the A708 between Moffat and Selkirk in Dumfries and Galloway on Sunday.

The incident happened at around 3.55pm, near the Grey Mare’s Tail, Moffat, when Mr Hristov’s green Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a grey Audi Q2.

Sergeant William Broatch, of Dumfries and Galloway Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Hristov at this difficult time.

“Inquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would ask that anyone with any information contact police.”
