Police have launched a hunt for a group of youths after a woman was doused in petrol outside a house in Dumfries.
The incident took place outside an address on Alloway Road, Lochside, at around 8.30pm on Thursday, and is believed to have been streamed on social media.
Officers have now launched an appeal for any witnesses or anyone holding information to come forward.
A statement read: “Police are investigating an incident that occurred outside an address on Alloway Road, Lochside, Dumfries about 8.30pm on Thursday December 22, 2022, involving a female being harassed by a number of youths.
“The female was later doused in a substance suspected to be petrol.
“It is believed this incident may have been streamed on social media.
“If you are a witness or have any information relating to this incident please call Police Scotland on 101 quoting PDG0269671222.”
