Police are searching for a fisherman after a man was attacked in woodland near Balloch.

A 63-year-old victim was seriously injured in the incident which occurred in Drumkinnon Woods.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley after the assault at 2pm on Saturday, September 9.

Police are now hunting a suspect described as between 30 to 40-years of age and stocky in build.

He was wearing a fishing-style hat and was in the company of a young male wearing a similar style hat. Both males were fishing.

Detective constable Nic Neeson of CID Clydebank said: “We are keen to trace the man described and the young male he was with.

“I also appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed this incident to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 2894 of September 19, 2023.”
