Police are keen to speak to two women “observed having a picnic” around the time of a theft in the Borders.

Officers were made aware of a white Volkswagen Tiguan car being broken into between 1.30pm and 3.30pm on Thursday, May 30 at the public car park of Cardona Forest.

Police are keen to speak with two women with a transit van observed having a picnic around the time of the incident.

A number of items were taken from the car.

PC Craig Turnbull said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously.

“In particular, we would like to speak to the two women with a transit van observed having a picnic around the time of the incident.

“We encourage vehicle owners to remember to keep all vehicles locked when unattended and remove all valuables or store them safely out of sight.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2382 of May 30.

“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
