Police are investigating the “unexplained” death of a man in a graveyard in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Cardonald Cemetery after a man died suddenly at around 11.40am on Wednesday.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.

Glasgow City Council confirmed that the cemetery is currently closed to the public while investigations continue.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.40am on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, we were called to a report of the sudden death of a man on Mosspark Boulevard, Glasgow.

“The death is being treated as unexplained however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

A Glasgow City Council spokesperson said: “We are aware the police are attending to an incident in Cardonald Cemetery. The cemetery is currently closed to the public.

“As this is a police matter, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
