A man has been arrested after a person was sexually assaulted on a street in Port Glasgow.
The victim was targeted in the town’s Barr’s Brae near to John Wood Street at around 3.30am on Sunday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that a 44-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Using a bridge over the railway near John Wood Street there is a footpath with stairs that runs uphill to Barr’s Brae.
A spokesperson said: “Around 3.30am on Sunday, November 13, 2022, police received a report of a serious sexual assault in Barr’s Brae near to John Wood Street, Port Glasgow.
“A 44-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
