The little girl was rushed to hospital in Glasgow following the incident on Napier Crescent in Dumbarton.

A two-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after a hit-and run in Dumbarton.

Police were called to the scene on Napier Crescent in the town around 8.30pm on Sunday, April 9.

The child was struck by a car which failed to stop at the scene.

She was taken to Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and was later released.

Officers are appealing anyone with information to help identify the driver to come forward.

The vehicle is believed to be a silver or light coloured small hatchback car.

Sergeant Archie McGuire, of Argyll and West Dunbartonshire Road Policing Unit, said: “I would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.

“In addition, if you have dash-cam that could help with our investigation then please contact us.

“Anyone who can assist is asked to call 101, quoting 3477 of April 9, 2023.  Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
