Police have confirmed they are no longer investigating claims a woman was raped in Helensburgh town centre.
The force initially reported that a 22-year-old woman was the victim of a serious sexual assault near to East King Street between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Saturday.
Officers appealed for witnesses to come forward.
However on Monday, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a serious sexual assault in Helensburgh on Saturday, August 15.
“Initial enquiries were carried out however following an update to the investigation team, we can confirm we are no longer carrying out enquiries.”
