An appeal has been launched by police in the search for a missing pensioner from Glasgow.

Aileen McInnes, 78, is believed to have left her home in Corkerhill at around 7.30am on Friday, December 17.

She is described as being white, around 5ft 5in, and of medium build with long, brown hair.

Police say Aileen is known to frequent the Corkerhill area, as well as the shops along Paisley Road West and Silverburn Shopping Centre in Pollok.

Officers have said her family is very concerned for her wellbeing and safety, as it is unusual for Aileen to be away from her home address for so long.

Anyone who has seen her or who has any information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact officers through 1328 of December 17.
