Police name motorcyclist who died following A82 lorry crash

The collision occurred on the A82 near Tarbet around 4.15pm on Wednesday.

A biker who died in a crash between a motorcycle and a lorry in Argyll has been named. 

The collision occurred on the A82 near Tarbet around 4.15pm on Wednesday.

The lorry driver was uninjured following the crash however the 31-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police confirmed the biker was Philip Alan Buchan, known as Phil, from Clydebank.

The road between Tarbet and Inveruglas was closed while an investigation was carried out.

Earlier this week, police urged anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.

On Wednesday, Sergeant Hugh Niccolls from Dumbarton Road Policing Unit said: “At this time, our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the deceased.

“I’d like to thank the public who stopped at the scene and have provided statements to officers. We continue to appeal for any further witnesses to come forward.

“If you have any information on this incident, please call police on 101, quoting incident 2388 of April 20.”
