Pensioner seriously injured following motorbike crash at roundabout

The 72-year-old man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow following the crash.

A pensioner has been taken to hospital following a motorbike crash in Argyll. 

The incident occurred at a roundabout on the A814 near Garelochhead around 4.25pm on Monday and involved a green Yahama motorcycle.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the 72-year-old male bike rider was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries.  

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the A814 at the roundabout junction with Glen Fruin Road, just above Garelochhead, at around 4.25pm on Monday, June 6 following reports of a one-vehicle crash involving a green Yamaha motorcycle.

“Emergency services attended and the 72-year old male rider was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

“Road Policing Officers at Dumbarton are carrying out enquiries and ask that any witnesses contact them on 101 quoting incident number of 2486 of June 6.”
