A pensioner was taken to hospital after being attacked in Paisley.

Between 5pm and 5.30pm on Monday, a 68-year-old man sustained injuries to his face after being seriously assaulted in the Braehead Road area and was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Police investigating the incident are looking to trace two people who may be able to assist with enquiries.

Detective constable Laura Sokolov said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch. This area has lots of shops and would have been busy at the time.

“We are keen to talk to two people who may be able to help with our enquiries. In particular, a white male aged in his 20’s, 6ft tall with short brown hair.

“We are also looking to trace a female described as around 30 years old with black shoulder length hair. She was with a child.”

Anyone who witnessed the assault or has dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 2918 of May 15, 2023.
