An 83-year-old woman is fighting for life in hospital after she was hit by a Land Rover as she crossed a road.
The pensioner was crossing Northgate Road near the junction with Acredyke Road in Glasgow when the collision with a Land Rover Discovery travelling south occurred at around 7.45am on Saturday.
She was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
The woman driving the Land Rover Discovery was not injured.
Police are appealing for information about the incident.
Sergeant Grant MacIver said: “Our inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen anything to get in touch.
“In particular, I’m keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage or who saw either the pedestrian or the car before the crash.
“Please call us on 101, quoting incident number 1044 of Saturday September 19.”
