A pensioner who died following a crash in Clydebank has been named by police.

James Malloy, 82, who was on foot, was hit by a car on Chalmers Street in the town on Saturday.

Police were called to the scene at around 11.45am and Mr Malloy was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sergeant Archie McGuire said: “Our thoughts remain with James’ family and friends at this difficult time.

“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information or dashcam footage who has not yet spoken to us to come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1375 of April 15, 2023.”
