A pensioner has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car at a junction in Ayr.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at the junction of Inverkar Road and Castlehill Road at around 3.50pm on March 15.

The 77-year-old had been knocked down by a black Honda car, and was taken to hospital for his injuries. His condition is currently unknown.

The driver of the car was uninjured in the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area who witnessed the incident to contact them.

“Anyone with a recording device is asked to check the footage as it may have recorded images which could assist in the ongoing police investigation.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1990 of March 15, 2023.”
