Subway users in Glasgow have been warned that a city station has been temporarily closed due to a power failure.

Shortly before 10am, subway operators SPT announced that the Hillhead station was closed to passengers and no trains would stop at the station amid the issue.

No customers can access or exit at the station, and it is currently unknown when the station will reopen.

The subway operator apologised for the inconvenience and advised that a further update will be provided when the subway reopens.

A tweet from Glasgow Subway’s travel account read: Apologies all, Hillhead station is closed due to a power failure in the area. Scottish Power is in attendance. No trains are stopping at the station.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and will update when station can reopen.”
