A man has appeared in court charged with murder in South Lanarkshire on Wednesday.

Christopher McMahon, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to Braxfield Terrace in Lanark on Wednesday around 10pm.

Stephen Kelly appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday charged with his killing.

The 27-year-old made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

He will next appear in court within the next eight days.
