Road users are facing delays on Thursday morning after a multiple vehicle crash on Scotland’s busiest motorway.
Shortly after 7am on Thursday September 14 a crash occurred on the M8 at Junction 6 eastbound near Kirk of Shotts.
One lane was closed in the eastbound direction as emergency services attended.
It is unclear if there are any injuries as a result of the crash.
Road users are advised to take caution on approach and allow extra time for their journey.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.10am on Thursday, September 14, 2023, we were called to reports of a crash involving a number of vehicles on the M8, eastbound near junction 6, Newhouse.
“Emergency services are at the scene.”
