A driver who was “seven times over” the drink-drive limit has been arrested following a crash in East Renfrewshire.

The man was arrested by officers investigating a collision near Orchard Park Avenue, in Giffnock, on Sunday, March 12.

The 41-year-old was taken in for “numerous” alleged offences, including being over the drink-drive limit.

The legal drink-drive limit in Scotland is 22 micrograms in 100ml of breath and the man arrested allegedly tested over seven times the limit.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: On March 12, officers investigating a crash near Orchard Park Avenue Giffnock arrested a 41-year-old man concerning numerous alleged offences.

“One of the offences alleges he was over seven times the drink-drive limit.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
