A motorcyclist has been seriously hurt and a number of people treated for injuries following a crash in North Lanarkshire.
Officers were called to the scene around 6.50pm on Thursday on the B8039, near to Lenziemill Road.
The incident involved a green Kawasaki motorcycle and a red Hyundai Tucson car.
The motorcycle rider, a 28-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, with serious injuries.
The driver and passengers of the Hyundai Tucson were conveyed to University Hospital Monklands, Airdrie, and released after treatment for minor injuries.
The road was closed for around four hours to allow for investigations to take place.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are asking anyone who has not already spoken to officers and can assist with our investigation to get in touch
“We would also like to see any dashcam footage from the area, especially any that captures the motorcycle prior to the collision happening.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3307 of May 30, 2024.”
