A motorcyclist has been left fighting for their life following a two vehicle crash near Stirling.

The 21-year-old was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries after the collision that took place at the crossroads of Roman Road with Cadgers Loan in Plean.

Police say a black Yamaha motorbike collided with a grey Volkswagen Tiguan at around 12.15pm on Saturday.

Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorbike was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by air ambulance.

The road was closed for six hours whilst enquiries were carried out.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for information.

Sergeant David Marr of the Forth Valley Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are continuing our enquiries to establish exactly what happened here and would appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have information that can help us, to come forward.

“If you have dash-cam footage or seen either of these vehicles prior to the incident, we would again urge you to get in contact.”Anyone with any information should contact Police via 101.”
