A man is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious motorcycle crash in Glasgow.

The incident, which involved a Ducati Panagle super bike, happened at around 8.50pm on Tuesday, on the A891 Campsie Road between Lennoxtown and Milton of Campsie.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 33-year-old man, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The road was closed for around seven hours while crash investigations were carried out and fully reopened at around 3.35am on Wednesday.

Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this crash.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen the vehicle involved prior to the incident, or who has any dash-cam footage, to come forward.

“In addition, anyone who may have been driving in the area around this time is asked to contact police.”
