An 11-year-old girl who disappeared from near an Asda superstore in the early hours of Monday morning has been found safe and well.
Aine Bown left her home in Emily Drive in Motherwell and was last seen around 2.35am nearby the supermarket in Palace Grounds Road, Hamilton.
On Monday morning, Police Scotland said concern for Aine’s welfare was growing and urged anyone who may have seen her to get in touch.
Shortly before midday, officers in Lanarkshire confirmed the schoolgirl had been found.
“We can confirm that Aine Bown, 11, reported missing from her home in Motherwell has been traced safe and well,” a statement said.
“Thank you to everyone who shared and responded to our appeal.”
