Two men were left with head injuries following a “disturbance” involving a group of youths in Glasgow city centre.

A gang of youngsters who were initially fighting amongst themselves were seen on CCTV footage from George Square in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, April 16.

Concerned passers-by spotted the 20 and 22-year-olds lying on the ground following the incident shortly after 4:30am.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene to administer treatment before the pair were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Security cameras caught the youths, thought to be aged between 17 and 20, engaged in a brawl in the corner of the area near to the junction with Hanover Street.

Police have since launched an appeal to trace them and have asked for anyone who may have been passing to contact them immediately.

“I know there are people out there who know what happened and I am asking them to please get in touch with any information.

“Any small detail could prove significant in our investigation.”
