Megan Thee Stallion has cancelled her upcoming show in Glasgow just one week before she was due to take to the stage.
The American rapper was set to play to thousands of fans at the OVO Hydro on July 4, but said a “complex construction project” at the venue meant the show was forced to be cancelled.
However, fans who bought tickets were disappointed to find out that the event was no longer going ahead after Ticketmaster UK updated their event page.
The venue has also removed it from its website.
The show was set to kick off the European and UK leg of the rappers tour with shows also taking place in Manchester and London.
Megan Thee Stallion wrote on Instagram: “To my Glasgow Hotties I promise I’ll be there soon, the venue informed us of a complex construction project that will close the venue forcing us to cancel the show.
“But we will find a date in the future !!! I love yall and can’t wait to see you.”
A spokesperson from the SEC said: “Megan Thee Stallion was scheduled to perform her Hot Girl Summer Tour on July 4.
“This date could indeed have gone ahead however the artist needed to move the original date and the venue was unavailable on the dates requested for reschedule.
“We hope to welcome Megan Thee Stallion back to the OVO Hydro soon.”
The cancellation news comes after Megan added extra dates to the US leg of her tour on July 2 and 3 in Atlanta.
An email shared by fans on social media stated that they will automatically be refunded for their ticket purchase.
Glasgow fans took to social media to share their frustration with one person writing on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Why has the Glasgow show been cancelled for other US shows? Gutted.”
