Man who died in crash near roundabout named by police

A man who died following a car crash on the A75, near Dumfries, has been named by police.

Emergency services were called after a silver Renault Megane left the road approximately one mile west of the Lochfoot Roundabout, at around 11pm on December 23.

Lewis Kearns-Kinnear, 30, from Castle Douglas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed overnight to allow for an investigation at the scene and has since reopened.

A Police Scotland spokesperson: “Officers are continuing to appeal for information to establish the full circumstances.

“Anyone who saw what happened or has relevant dash cam footage of the area at the time is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 4032 of December 23.”
