A man who died after being struck by a lorry in Glasgow has been named.

Duke Street in the Dennistoun area of the city was closed shortly before 11am on Thursday, June 1, after a 44-year-old was struck by a Mercedes lorry.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he later died, police said.

The man has been identified as Cameron Eaglesham, from Glasgow.

A 45-year-old woman, the driver of the lorry, was uninjured.

Sergeant James Crawford of the Divisional Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash take place who has not yet spoken to police to contact us.

Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 1390 of June 1.
