A man is to stand trial accused of trying to kill a six-month old boy on the Isle of Bute.
Stuart Laurie allegedly attacked the child at a house in Rothesay on May 7, 2020.
Prosecutors claim the 40-year-old shook the boy or otherwise inflicted trauma to his head and body by means unknown.
The attempted murder charge states this was to the child’s severe injury, permanent impairment and to the danger of his life.
The case called at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday, where Laurie’s lawyer Callum Hiller pled not guilty on his behalf.
Both the advocate and prosecutor Erin Campbell agreed a trial could be fixed.
Lady Scott set a trial due to begin in September in Glasgow. The case could last around seven days.
Laurie, also of Rothesay, remains on bail meantime.
