A man has been taken to hospital after being attacked in a town square in Renfrewshire.
Police were called to Houston Square in Johnstone at around 3.45pm on Thursday, after receiving reports that a man was seriously assaulted.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
His current condition is unknown.
Officers remain at the scene as enquiries continue.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Houston Square in Johnstone at around 3.45pm on Thursday, March 23, after a man was the victim of a serious assault.
“He has been taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries remain ongoing.
“Officers remain at the scene.”
