A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus near a retail park in North Lanarkshire.

Emergency services responded to the reports of a man being struck by a bus at around 4.35pm on Monday afternoon in South Circular Road in Coatbridge.

The incident took place near the Faraday Retail Park.

A 28 year old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Police said enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 4.35pm on Monday, February 26, 2024, police were called to a report of a man having been struck by a bus in South Circular Road, Coatbridge.

“Emergency services attended and a 28-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
