Man taken to hospital after being assaulted by 'group of men' 

Emergency services were called to Pollok Avenue in Hamilton on June 2, after a 40-year-old man was assaulted.

A man was taken to hospital after being assaulted by a “group of men” in South Lanarkshire.

Emergency services were called to Pollok Avenue at around 11.55pm on Friday, June 2, after a man and a woman were approached by three or four unidentified men, which resulted in a disturbance.

A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries.

The unidentified men involved drove off in a car in the direction of the Hillhouse area of Hamilton.

Police are asking any witnesses into the incident to come forward.

Detective constable Sarah McNeil said: “Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or who saw or heard a disturbance to get in touch.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0007 of June 3, 2023, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
