A man has been assaulted in his own garden by two suspects in Ayrshire.  

The 46-year-old man was attacked in his back garden on Glencairn Street, Stevenston on Friday evening around 10.30pm. 

He was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock for treatment for facial injuries.

Both suspects are male, with one described as approximately 5ft 4in tall and of slim build.

Detective Constable Kevin Simpson, of Saltcoats CID, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen two males acting suspiciously in the Glencairn Street area either before or after the incident.

“If you believe you can assist our investigation, please call 101, quoting incident 3736 of December 17. 

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
