A man is to stand trial charged with murdering a young father in the street.
Gavin McVey allegedly killed Sean McKay, 23, in Dalry, North Ayrshire last October 10.
Prosecutors claim the 39-year-old seized Sean and struck him on the body with a knife at St Margaret Avenue in the town at the junction of Shaw Place.
McVey faces a separate accusation of then attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
This includes a claim he got rid of the blade and a jacket he was wearing.
He is also said to have left the scene by bus to Ayr, South Ayrshire.
McVey then allegedly bought different clothes to wear at a shop in Irvine, North Ayrshire.
McVey pled not guilty to the accusations during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Both his QC Donald Findlay and prosecutor Victoria Dow said they were ready for a trial to be fixed.
Lady Stacey set a trial due to begin in June 2023 in Paisley.
