Man seriously injured in hospital after 'falling from bus' in city centre

Police have launched an appeal after a 33-year-old man fell from a bus in Glasgow's Union Street in the early hours of Tuesday.

A man has been left in a serious condition in hospital after “falling from a bus” in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency services were called to the city’s Union Street at around 12.05am on Tuesday.

Officers confirmed that a 33-year-old man was left in a serious condition in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after he fell from a bus.

The road was closed as police conducted enquiries but reopened later that morning.

Officers are reviewing CCTV footage for any additional information and are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact them.

Sergeant Paul Nellis said: “We are in the process of establishing what happened and I would ask any motorists and members of the public who have yet to speak to us to get in touch with us.

“If anyone has dash cam footage, please check it as it could have captured images that could assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0016 of Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
