A man has been rushed to hospital after being left with serious injuries from an assault in East Kilbride.
The 21-year-old victim became involved in a disturbance with a group of men which led to him being assaulted.
Police were called to the scene outside Scholar’s Gate on Sunday at around 7pm.
The victim was taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment on serious injuries and was subsequently discharged.
Detective Constable Frank Donaghy said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing. We understand there were other people in the area around the time who may have witnessed this disturbance.
“We would urge anyone who may have information to get in touch.
