A woman has been arrested and a man is in hospital after he was struck by a car while crossing the road in Motherwell on Sunday morning.
A 68-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a white Ford Puma car as he crossed the carriageway on the A721 Bellshill Road at the junction with Logans Road in Motherwell at around 9.10pm on March 17.
The 24-year-old female driver of the Ford Puma stopped the car and it was struck from behind by a blue coloured Vauxhall Corsa car driven by a 29-year-old woman.
The 68-year old man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with a head injury and the drivers of the cars did not require any medical treatment.
A woman has been arrested in connection with an alleged road traffic offence and enquiries are ongoing.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has dashcam footage to come forward.
