A Glasgow man pulled over on a 270-mile trip home allegedly told police he was unaware of the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions despite being furloughed.

Eden Police in Cumbria reported that they stopped the Audi driver on the A66 at Appleby on Saturday.

The man, who was reportedly on his way home from Hull following an 11-day stay at his girlfriend’s parents’ house, allegedly told officers he was unaware of the coronavirus measures put in place.
