A man has been left injured after being attacked and assaulted with a weapon outside a shop in Renfrewshire.
The 34-year-old was on Greenock Road, Bishopton, when he was approached by four men and struck by a weapon at around 9.45pm on Sunday.
Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital where he has been treated for his injuries.
Police are now looking to trace the men responsible.
One of the men is described as being in his 20s, of slim build, with short dark hair, and was wearing a grey hooded top with white inside the hood, a black gilet, black bottoms and black trainers with a white sole.
The second suspect is described as being in his 20’s, tall, of slim build, with a shaved head and was wearing a grey hooded top, grey/khaki jacket, dark jeans, and white trainers.
There are no descriptions for the other two men, and the suspects left the area in an unknown vehicle.
Detective constable James Campbell said: “This incident saw a man sustain a serious head injury and it is vital we trace those involved.
“I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage to contact us.”
