A man has been left with life-changing injuries after being struck by a train in Greenock.

Emergency services were called to Branchton station at around 5.32pm on Tuesday.

A man was taken to hospital for treatment after being struck by a train. His injuries are believed to be life-changing.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Following the incident, services between Port Glasgow and Wemyss Bay railway station were closed.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Branchton station at 5.32pm on May 30 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended and a man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are believed to be life-changing. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
