A man has been left seriously injured after being assaulted on a South Lanarkshire street in a broad daylight attack.
The 40-year-old was on Mulberry Drive in East Kilbride at around 2pm on Saturday when a white Mercedes car stopped beside him.
Another man got out of the car and seriously assaulted him.
Emergency services were called and the victim was taken to Wishaw General Hospital hospital in an ambulance.
Medical staff have described his injuries as “serious but not life threatening”.
Police are now appealing for information.
Constable Natalie Barrie, of Rutherglen Police Station, said: “We are urging anyone with information on who is responsible for this attack to please come forward.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone with CCTV from the area, or any motorists who were near Mulberry Drive around the time of the incident and may have potential dashcam footage.
“If you believe you can assist our investigation, please call 101.“
